Guide: Andrew Milliorn

I am an Austin-based fly fishing guide, instructor, and fly tyer with a strong focus on Central Texas waters. Much of my time is spent exploring and learning the rivers and creeks of the Texas Hill Country, refining approaches that match the region’s unique conditions, species, and seasonal changes. I enjoy working with anglers at all stages, from first-time fly fishers to those looking to sharpen specific skills.

My home waters include the San Marcos, Llano, and Guadalupe rivers, where I guide for native warm-water species and seasonal holdover trout. I tie my own flies with an emphasis on practical, proven patterns tailored to local fisheries rather than generic imitations. Whether on the water or at the vise, my approach is rooted in observation, adaptability, and a respect for place.

As a guide, I place equal importance on education, preparation, and safety. I am CPR and First Aid certified and a Certified River Guide in the State of Colorado. Each trip is designed to be both informative and approachable, giving anglers the confidence to better understand the water, make thoughtful decisions, and enjoy the process.

I am the owner and guide behind Angler’s Choice Fly Fishing, based in Austin, Texas.
